• Supply, Installation & Calibration of Positioning & Dredge Monitoring System
    SEAWORK SURVEY were requested by FARSA Offshore Company to investigate & propose options for positioning their cutter suction dredger which was working on the Hendijan Field Project. The aim was being to maximize dredging efficiency by ensuring accurate dredger positioning. A solution was accepted by FARSA which was to be implemented at 2 stages. As delivery the equipment for the total solution would take some time and the dredger was already working on site, a basic system would be installed to start with. This would be upgraded once the remainder of the equipment was delivered. Initially two Trimble DSM132 GPS receivers were fitted on the centre-line of the vessel and interfaced to a PC running Dredgepack software. The twin antennas enabled the computation of vessel heading, and therefore there was no requirement to fit an expensive Gyro Compass. A plan view outline of the dredger was created on screen, with offsets for antenna & cutter positions. This was then displayed real time with a background showing the design of the dredged channel. This enabled the dredge operator to position the cutter head more precisely and reduce the chances of dredging outside the design limits, or leaving Un-dredged areas.
    This system was supplemented at a later stage by a cutter depth sensor to allow 3D positioning of the cutter head. Additional cross sectional views showing real time positioning of the cutter head on the design profile is now also possible. This will reduce over or under dredging, and allow more accurate side slope cutting.

    SEAWORK SURVEY was responsible for provision of precise surface positioning and RIG Moves by providing real time differential GPS navigation using telemetry system for Semi-submersible drilling rig and her two anchor handler tug ‘ Caspian-1’ and ‘ Caspian-2’ during and before the drilling operation.

  • Marine Geophysical and Shallow Seismic Reflection Site Survey
    SEAWORK SURVEY were assigned contract to conduct a full marine geophysical and shallow seismic reflection survey to detect the lost boom of HL5000 barge in South Pars Field, Offshore Iran.
    The purpose of the survey was to obtain the position, orientation and status of the Heavy Lift Barge lost boom and its ancillaries within an area of 1000m x 1000m defined by Client in South Pars Field.
    The water depth at survey area was some 70m. SEAWORK SURVEY found all 11 lost objects via data extracted from its Dual frequency digital Side Scan Sonar system.
    The hook itself had been found at depth of 9m below the seabed from the Sub bottom profiler data. Penetration achieved up to a depth of more than 25 meters below the seabed. Sub-bottom profiler data had indicated upper unit of Silty clays underlain by Compact/Stiff clays.
    The other boom’s modules had been observed that they are partially buried under the seabed up to depth of 15 meters and at the same these are about 5 to 10 meters above the ambient sea bed.
    From the results of the SEAWORK SURVEY report, the Client successfully recovered the lost boom.

  • Offshore Positioning and Construction support survey services for E2 Wellhead Jacket installation in Hengam Oil Field in the Persian Gulf -Offshore-Iran
    SEAWORK SURVEY was responsible for provision of precise surface and Sub-surface positioning by providing real time differential GPS navigation using telemetry system together with USBL acoustic positioning system for the installation of the Wellhead jacket over an existing Live Well (3.5m conductor pipe) at depth of 72m.

    The jacket successfully positioned within the required installation tolerances using two mini beacons diagonally place on the bottom line of the jacket and the 3rd beacon been already place on top of the Well.

    Each culvert was approximately 1200 tones with the total length of 1.3Km in two routes.

  • Offshore Surface and precise positioning – Construction support survey services during the ancillaries and topside installation of South Pars Gas Field Development.
    The South Pars facilities have been developed in order to produce gas and condensate from this field, located approximately 100 km south of the Assaluyeh Port in the Persian Gulf, Iranian offshore sector. Reservoir fluids are being transferred onshore via dedicated pipelines and then treated onshore. The offshore development; consist of ancillary structures including 2 tripods, a bridge support (topside) and the related bridges and flare. The precise positioning for tripod installation was provided by RTS total stations and Aquarius DGPS system.
